How to care for your new tattoo has been a subject of debate in the tattoo community for many years. Tattoo artists have had to recommend a variety of products available from your local drug store. These products were developed to prevent cuts, burns, scrapes and abrasions from getting infected and not for the healing of a new tattoo. The majority of these products contain petroleum or lanolin which when applied to a new tattoo can clog skin pores causing breakouts and actually delay your body's healing process. Plus lanolin pulls color from healing tattoos. A large number of people also have allergic reactions to these products and application to a new tattoo can cause skin reactions leading to loss of ink and permanent damage to your tattoo. Tattoo Goo contains no petroleum and no lanolin.

How does Tattoo Goo Aftercare work?
Simple really. Tattoo Goo salve and lotion keep your tattoos from drying and the skin areas soft and moist. Always apply sparingly. Too much prevents the skin where the tattoo is, from breathing, and can cause leaching of the colors.
Is it normal for the tattoo to bleed?
Yes, it may bleed a bit at first but usually slows to a stop within a few hours. Most artists recommend a fresh tattoo be kept bandaged for a few hours, or possibly overnight. If the bandage feels like it's sticking to the skin, first soak the area with cold water until the bandage loosens, then remove carefully. Washing your new tattoo would the next step.
How often should I use Tattoo Goo?
We recommend applying a very thin layer everytime you wash your new tattoo. A few times a day or as recommended by th artist.
Can you use other ointments like vasoline, neosporin, or cremes on fresh tattoos?
No, it is very well known that many ointments and cremes as such will actually harm a fresh tattoo. We strongly recommend following a more natural approach to healing skin art.
Can I go swimming with a new tattoo?
No, submerging your tattoo under water is strictly prohibited. Unless you are merely washing it in the shower, No swimming period!
Will Tattoo Goo protect my tattoo from the sun?
Absolutely not. Tattoo Goo is not a sunscreen. Plus, fresh tattoos cannot be exposed to the sun! Do not sunbathe. Always protect your tattoo! If you are not sure about something or maybe have a question, just contact us!
